Singapore – 5 April, 2021: John Lin, a Singapore-based veteran trader and entrepreneur with a proven track record of growth and innovation in FinTech and trading, joins more than 100 recognized global leaders as a member of APCO Worldwide’s International Advisory Council (IAC), James Yi, managing director, Southeast Asia & Korea, announced today.

“Demand for digital financial services and transformation is at an all-time high. While the world shifts to embrace a truly digital economy, organizations are still grappling with the challenges and unknowns of navigating technology and regulatory shifts in the financial services sector, particularly in FinTech,” Yi said. “With his deep knowledge and passion for the industry, John brings invaluable counsel to equip businesses not only to weather the storm, but to emerge stronger.”

Lin made his name as founder and chairman of Grasshopper—one of Asia’s leading proprietary trading firms. He also developed Tilde, Grasshopper’s digital asset division trading cryptocurrencies. Lin will further help APCO’s ongoing dedication to being a critical strategic partner for its clients that are embarking on their digital transformation and innovation journeys. Now retired from active trading, Lin remains an angel investor and regularly advises upcoming companies. He has recently cofounded COmastermind, a high-level accelerator for innovation thinking and collaboration.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has nudged decision makers to escalate their focus on harnessing technology in various sectors. Increasingly we see how newer technology solutions have helped achieve key results in crucial issues and segments like financial services, healthcare, education and supply chain.
