Technology Policy Expert Maud Sacquet Joins APCO Worldwide as Director in Brussels

Brussels – September 7, 2020: Maud Sacquet, a technology policy expert with extensive experience on a wide range of information and communications technology issues, joined APCO Worldwide in Brussels as a director in the technology practice, Theo Moore, managing director of APCO’s Brussels office and head of APCO’s financial practice in Europe, announced today.

“Maud’s extensive and hard earned policy expertise in online platforms, e-commerce, content regulation and intellectual property will further strengthen our outstanding client teams in Brussels,” Moore said. “I and the tech team welcome Maud to APCO, and we look forward to continuing to give our clients the incisive counsel and guidance they need in the face of increasing regulatory scrutiny and reputational risk.”

Prior to joining APCO, Sacquet was a policy manager at Mozilla, where she served as interim head of its Brussels office and led the company’s European strategy on disinformation, artificial intelligence and data access. Prior to this role, she served as a policy manager at the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA). During that time, she worked extensively on the copyright and audiovisual reforms, as well as on the liability of online platforms.

I look forward to advising current and future clients on important upcoming EU proposals such as the Digital Services Act, the regulation on Artificial Intelligence and all other content, cybersecurity and data-related initiatives,” Sacquet said.

Earlier in her career, Sacquet worked as a legal counsel for Yahoo in Paris. She holds a master’s degree in business law from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris, a master’s degree in European business law from the University Robert Schuman of Strasbourg and a LL.M in regulation and technology from King’s College London. She is fluent in French and English.
