APCO Worldwide Promotes Isabel Kassabian as Managing Director in Germany

May 16, 2022

Berlin – May 16, 2022: APCO Worldwide named Isabel Kassabian as the company’s managing director in Germany. Kassabian, who previously headed APCO’s Frankfurt office and served as deputy managing director for the past eight years, is now responsible for APCO’s German business across its operations in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, Paolo Compostella, president of APCO Worldwide’s Europe region, announced today.

She is succeeding Robert Ardelt, who led APCO’s German business as managing director since 2014 and will leave the company to dedicate himself to a new assignment in-house. A well-ordered handover is planned and will be implemented in the coming weeks.

“Our clients operate in a constantly changing world and face increasingly complex challenges—quite often of a global scale,” Compostella said. “The last few months, in particular, have shown us that answers to these challenges call for innovative approaches and for an in-depth expertise across our clients’ industries. We know that in Isabel we have the ideal successor, who will be able to seamlessly continue along the successful path we have taken in Germany for over a decade. Isabel’s tested expertise in providing strategic advice to our clients make her the perfect candidate to build on our business’ trajectory and keep growing in Germany as we are doing in the rest of the region.”

Compostella added, “I would also like to thank Robert for his outstanding commitment and results, for his dedication to APCO’s clients and team, and for the passion he injected in the firm—in Germany as well as globally—over the past years. We are certain that his ideas and creativity will be a great asset in the next professional challenge, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

An industry veteran in public affairs, crisis and litigation PR, and strategic communications, Kassabian brings impressive knowledge to her new role from a career spanning more than 20 years in which she has advised many of the world’s biggest brands, executives and companies.

Kassabian explains, “the greatest strength of APCO lies in the diversity of talent that we bring together, combined with our enthusiasm for communication and consulting. Our team possesses the ability to constantly find bold, innovative and sometimes unexpected answers to new challenges. I am very much looking forward to continuing APCO’s ongoing upward trend in the German market and to further developing its potential together with all of my colleagues. We will greatly miss Robert as a colleague, but he will remain a friend to all of us and as we always say: once APCO, always APCO.”

APCO’s operations in Germany—founded in Berlin in 2000—supports international companies, trade associations as well as governments and NGOs, providing strategic counsel founded on strong expertise in a wide range of sectors including ICT, energy, health care, finance, transportation and logistics, and food and consumer products. APCO’s team in Germany takes an integrated approach to consulting, based on three pillars—strong public affairs heritage, experience in corporate communications and in-depth crisis communications expertise, combined with outstanding creative and digital capabilities—integrating them to deliver effective corporate communication campaigns across multiple sectors. As a trusted advisor and partner to clients, APCO helps them analyze complex situations and identify the best strategic approach, using a campaign-based method and not shying away from being creative—especially with complex topics.

For more than 38 years, APCO has been a trusted advisor and partner to private, public and non-profit clients as they try to identify and manage new and emerging issues, challenges and opportunities around the world. Established by Margery Kraus as a single-person operation in 1984, APCO has grown to a global advisory and advocacy communications consultancy helping clients be catalysts for progress through its 950+ staff and International Advisory Council members in more than 30 markets, and having experience working in more than 80 markets globally, providing in-depth advice, perceptive guidance and creative approaches for its clients.
