Showcasing APCO’s Impact: Join Us for a Remarkable Week of Events in Washington, D.C. and Beyond
October 10, 2025
As autumn arrives in Washington, D.C., we at APCO are preparing for one of our most exciting weeks of the year! From October 14–17, the city will hum with energy as DC Fintech Week and the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) meetings bring together global leaders, innovators and policymakers. At APCO, we’re proud to play a central role in these important conversations—hosting and sponsoring a series of exclusive events that reflect our firm’s commitment to thought leadership, innovation and global engagement.
At the same time, we are engaged in critical conversations around collaboration and innovation to address global health issues at this year’s World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany with many global health experts from the private sector, governments, civil society and academia, as well as the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development Connections Conference.
Read on to see how we’re showing up, and why you’ll want to be part of this dynamic week.
World Health Summit (WHS), Berlin, Germany
APCO is organizing two sessions at the WHS, including on Sunday, October 12: “Filling the Gaps: The Role of the Private Sector and Philanthropy in Reimagining Health Infrastructure and Financing,” moderated by Paolo Compostella. On Monday, October 13, an interactive workshop on “Geopolitical Foresight Scenario Workshop: Health Sector Resilience in 2035,” moderated by Mathew Shearman.
Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development’s (SHCMD) Connections 2025 Annual Conference, Dallas, Texas
APCO’s Allison Parker-Lagoo will be presenting alongside APCO clients at the premier event for health care strategy professionals, where bold ideas meet practical solutions and where leaders like you shape what’s next in health care.
Founder and Executive Chairman Margery Kraus will participate at this year’s event, “Leading in a Dynamic World,” focusing on how global leaders can respond to the fast-changing business environment.
APCO IAC Member and Former Head of Communications at Kaman Corporation Ken Nasshan will moderate a panel on October 16 on “Navigating D.C.: How LA Defense Tech Startups Can Shape the Future of National Security.” Guests include General Stephen Lanza, Former Commanding General of I Corps; Andy Markoff, Co-Founder and CEO of Smack Technologies; Forrest Underwood, Venture Partner at IronGate Capital Advisors; and APCO’s Dan Scandling, a 25+ year Capitol Hill veteran. Diplomatic Courier & APCO Breakfast Discussion
We’re kicking off Wednesday with an exclusive breakfast co-hosted with the Diplomatic Courier and Civitas ID at APCO’s Washington office. At the intersection of diplomacy and business, this roundtable convenes frontline experts, technologists and displaced voices to explore how universal, human-centric digital identity systems can restore agency to individuals while bolstering economic resilience for countries and communities. Experts from finance, technology and civil society will chart a future where identity is the foundation of inclusive economic growth and stability. This event builds on discussions APCO held at this year’s UN General Assembly meetings detailing how digital identity solutions can help with the growing involuntary migration crisis.
From Banks to Blocks: Unbundling the Next Five Years of Finance
APCO Senior Director Mannar Hanna is participating in a finance panel at DC Fintech Week. As traditional finance collides with blockchain innovation, the foundations of financial infrastructure are being reimagined from the ground up. In this power-packed conversation, industry veterans and policy leaders explore the shifting role of banks, the rise of decentralized rails, and the policy frameworks needed to support transformation at scale.
APCO AI Salon Dinner: The Intersection of AI, Communications and Public Affairs
On Wednesday evening, we are exploring the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in communications and public affairs at an intimate salon dinner. Our own experts—Imad Lahad, Dr. Abdullah Sahyoun, Stefany Zaroban and our Adaptive AI Parner “Margy”—will lead guests through a lively discussion on the latest trends and discuss how AI is revolutionizing engagement and impact in our field.
Annual Meetings Networking Breakfast at The Cosmos Club
As part of the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and IMF, Founder & Executive Chairman of APCO Margery Kraus, will host a high-level breakfast dialogue on Thursday morning, “Tectonic Shifts: Building Resilience in a World That Won’t Sit Still.” As global systems shift, politically, economically and environmentally, the foundations of strategy and governance are being redefined. From rising geopolitical tensions and digital fragmentation to supply chain instability and public distrust, today’s leaders face a landscape where adaptability is the new resilience.
DC Fintech Week Breakfast: Policy at the Cutting Edge
APCO will welcome Congressman French Hill (R-AR), Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Lila Nieves-Lee, Head of Federal at Visa, for a private breakfast conversation on fintech and crypto policies and innovation. Co-hosted with DC Fintech Week, this invitation-only event (not open to the media) will bring together senior leaders to dissect the evolving policy landscape and its implications for innovation and regulation.
We’ll close the week with a thought-provoking roundtable at The Hay-Adams, moderated by Chris Brummer, founder of DC Fintech Week. The discussion will explore “Borderless Technology in a Fragmented World,” examining how digital assets, cryptocurrencies and evolving regulatory frameworks are reshaping the global economy and national strategies. From the U.S. GENIUS Act to stablecoin frameworks worldwide, this session will bring together experts to share perspectives and chart the future of borderless innovation.
APCO’s role in these events is more than just convening conversations—it’s about driving impact. By creating spaces for candid, high-level dialogue on a range of important topics, we are helping our clients, partners and the broader community navigate the fast-changing landscape of technology, policy and global affairs.
Whether you’re passionate about AI, fintech or trade, APCO will be at the heart of the action. We’re energized to connect, learn and lead—showing up in ways that make a real difference.
