Washington – July 27, 2023: APCO Worldwide elevated Courtney Crowder and Licy M. Do Canto to serve as the North America Managing Director and Chair of Advocacy, and North America Head of Market Engagement, respectively, APCO North America President Kelly Williamson announced today.

“Our clients need integrated advocacy and strategic partnership engagement insights, advice and ideas—from understanding the global context, Washington, D.C., and across the states where clients operate,” Williamson said. “Advice cannot be delivered in a vacuum; one action must anticipate another. We are evolving our teams to ensure we continue to bring cohesive strategy, insight and counsel.”

As the Managing Director and Chair of Advocacy for North America, Crowder will set the vision for APCO’s market-leading advocacy offer—providing clients seamless integrated advice, allowing them to anticipate the issues of today and tomorrow to ensure their businesses thrive. In his new role, Crowder will also manage APCO’s Washington, D.C., and Raleigh offices—further activating the collaborative synergies between the markets.

“By further streamlining APCO’s team of experts and capabilities, the potential is sky-high for what we do best: quick, smart, integrated, substantive work providing clients with key insights on whatever issues they’re up against to ensure their license to operate and maintain their competitive advantage,” Crowder said.

As the Head of Market Engagement for North America, Do Canto will spearhead APCO’s efforts across the region to generate wider awareness, foster deeper engagement and drive business growth for the firm through collaborations with corporations, governments, multilateral institutions, think tanks and public policy stakeholders. Additionally, he will prioritize elevating APCO’s market reputation, value and positioning in North America while continuing to serve as a senior strategist and client advisor across the firm’s global network.

“Partnership and relationship are not mere factors, but essential pillars for companies seeking to drive transformative change and achieve remarkable business growth. They empower organizations with enhanced impact and unequivocally serve as catalysts for our clients, igniting their journey and our work with them toward fresh and innovative ideas that revolutionize their own engagement strategies,” said Do Canto.

Deputy Managing Directors Hannah Morecraft, Dan Meyers and Joanna London will continue to lead the day-to-day office strategies to ensure that APCO staff continue to thrive and clients receive full access to the entire company.

For almost 40 years, APCO has been a trusted advisor and partner to private, public and non-profit clients as they try to identify and manage new and emerging issues, challenges and opportunities around the world. Established by Margery Kraus as a single-person operation in 1984, APCO has grown to a global advisory and advocacy communications consultancy with offices in more than 30 markets and experience working in more than 80 markets globally, providing in-depth advice, perceptive guidance and creative approaches for its clients.
