Deputy Managing Director

Joanna London, deputy managing director in APCO’s Washington office, provides strategic counsel to help clients shape their brand and reputation in the market. Ms. London has been with APCO for nearly 13 years, spanning a diverse set of roles including running key corporate accounts, building the video production offering, leading the creative practice, acting as chief-of-staff for the Washington office and launching a new corporate communications practice.

Ms. London has produced campaigns for clients across a range of sectors including health care, energy, food and consumer products, and automotive. Her responsibilities include all aspects of campaign development from helping shape research to identify and understand key audiences, turning insights into informed and effective corporate narratives and developing the expression of the brand in the market through earned, paid and owned media. Her work for a major energy utility led to adoption of a new corporate positioning aimed at consumers, policy makers and influential thought leaders and the successful launch of a fully integrated, multi-channel campaign.

Prior to joining APCO, Ms. London worked for the Natural Resources Defense Council, building coalitions in support of the organization’s legislative objectives. She managed public education campaigns, supported legislative initiatives and helped build state-wide coalitions.

Ms. London has a Bachelor of Science in public affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington.
