Celebrating Women’s Equality Day 2020

August 27, 2020

On August 26th, we commemorated Women’s Equality Day, which recognizes the adoption of the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The 19th amendment granted white women the right to vote in the U.S., though it did not break down voting barriers for all women—and even today, there is more work to be done.

As the largest majority women-owned communications firm in the world, we are committed to looking ahead. Every single woman around the world has the right to a better future, and as more and more women enter the workforce, it’s our job as leaders to extend a hand to uplift others on their journeys.

To help commemorate the day, we hosted a special conversation featuring Irene Khan, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression and Opinion, to discuss COVID’s disproportionate impact on women, the changing expectations of balancing work and family life and the work still ahead to ensure women’s equality.
