Stig Albinus, a member of APCO’s International Advisory Council, is a former senior director for APCO’s global health care practice. He has more than 30 years of experience working for many of the world’s most influential health care stakeholders in both Europe and the United States, having counseled dozens of leading pharmaceutical companies, medical device and diagnostics companies, hospitals, health systems, health care organizations and health policy associations.
Mr. Albinus has many years’ experience in launching new health care products and leading integrated multi-channel go-to-markets strategies and campaigns for clients across multiple disease categories, including oncology, diabetes, cardiovascular/metabolic, Alzheimer’s disease, and schizophrenia.
Mr. Albinus is an expert in R&D and science communications and is a thought leader in the field of personalized medicine.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Albinus held multiple executive roles in Burson-Marsteller’s health care practice over the course of his 16-year tenure with the firm. As head of the company’s European health care practice, he was responsible for health care teams in 14 European markets and grew the practice to be the strongest in Europe, with annual revenue of more than $25 million.
Most recently, Mr. Albinus was a partner and director of integrated client solutions at Porter Novelli in New York. Earlier in his career, Mr. Albinus served as head of public affairs for the Danish Medical Association, a powerful trade union in Denmark comprising more than 20,000 practicing physicians.
