January 4, 2019

Washington – November 27, 2018: Today, APCO Worldwide named three new regional leads in areas critical to organizational agility. Senior directors Alexandra Lazorchak, Kelly Stepno and Matthew Gallagher will lead the firm’s North America Health, Crisis and Energy practices respectively, announced Kelly Williamson, APCO’s President, North America.

“Clients are facing unprecedented challenges today,” said Williamson. “The landscapes of the health and energy industries are changing at a rapid rate, and for many companies and organizations, the next crisis could define the very future for their business. Having trusted and experienced partners is crucial for clients today. Alex, Kelly and Matt are some of the very best advisors APCO has to offer, and we’re excited to see our teams throughout the region grow and deliver the most innovative solutions for our clients under their leadership.”

Lazorchak, a seasoned health strategy expert with extensive experience in strategic communications and management consulting, rejoined APCO in June, after holding senior positions at Weber Shandwick and Biosector 2. Lazorchak will work closely with James Tyrrell, UK health practice chair, to co-lead APCO’s global health practice.

Stepno, an attorney with more than 20 years of consulting experience helping clients manage crises and reputation threatening events, joined APCO in 2016 from Booz Allen Hamilton. There she advised both government and commercial clients across sectors and developed strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks. Stepno will work closely with Eliot Hoff, APCO’s global Crisis and Litigation Communication practice lead.

Gallagher, a seven-year APCO veteran, has extensive experience developing and implementing public affairs, media and community relations strategies on behalf of a wide variety of clients in the energy space. Gallagher has a diverse background with experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining APCO in 2011, he led the energy and environment practice for Cerrell Associates in Los Angeles.

The three leaders join a robust leadership team for APCO in North America, including Washington, D.C. managing director and global president, Evan Kraus; North America president and Raleigh managing director, Kelly Williamson; New York managing director and global digital lead, Marc Johnson; Seattle managing director, Tim Smith and Chicago managing director, Tina-Marie Adams.

This news is the latest in APCO’s efforts to help clients adapt to and thrive in today’s challenging business environment. The firm’s North America leadership team has been instrumental in the recently launched joint offering designed to help clients prepare for and seize opportunities created by massive global disruption by advancing organizational agility.
