
Michel Doermer is a specialist in issue-driven media and public relations, corporate positioning, reputation management, brand positioning and crisis communications. He is also a media trainer. At APCO Michel consults multinational companies, helping them navigate through media challenges and to build a visible profile in the market implementing integrated communication and public relations projects. He currently serves as a senior director based in APCO’s Frankfurt office and a member of the Corporate Reputation practice.
For the first ten year of his career Michel was a journalist with Dow Jones, NHK and Bloomberg News, based in London and Frankfurt. Prior to joining APCO he held different senior positions as in corporate communications. After leaving journalism he was a director corporate finance leading the German energy and sustainability team at Burson-Marsteller. He was involved in and led various crisis communications, issues and reputation management assignments. Starting in 2014 he ran his own communications consultancy. He also was interim press-officer at Telefónica Germany.
Michel joined APCO in 2024 and holds an M.A. in History, Economics and Art History from Goethe University in Frankfurt and an MBA from Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. He has been a certified media trainer since 2017.
