Maximilian Rau specializes on the interlink of corporate communications, public affairs and crisis & issues. As part of APCO’s Geo-Commerce team, Max currently advises companies and organisations facing global changes and challenges such as EU regulatory initiatives, the impact of trade restrictions on companies and the positioning of companies and their CEO’s on international platforms. He is an associate director in APCO’s Berlin office.

Prior to joining APCO, Max was a senior account executive in the Corporate Brand team at Burson Cohn Wolfe in Frankfurt. There, he worked for globally operating clients and has proven experience in coordinating corporate communications within several European markets. He also gained experience at various interfaces between politics, business and media in the public affairs practice of Instinctif Partners, the ARD stock exchange editorial office, an asset management company, in the Strategy, Dialogue & Campaigns department of a party headquarters and in the German Bundestag.
Max holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany, and a Master of Science in Global Studies from the University of Lund, Sweden. He is fluent in German and English and has some knowledge of Swedish.
