A Look at the Future of Health with Views from APCO’s Team
Caroline Wolter Starke, senior director in APCO’s New York office, has spent her career supporting organizations and individuals to build and preserve reputation in the midst of transformation. In nearly 20 years as a communicator, she has repositioned corporate brands to modernize and seize market opportunity in a complex and changing stakeholder environment; supported organizations through leadership change, spinoff or restructuring; and architected meaningful and impactful reputation building campaigns. Ms. Starke also leads APCO’s Global Key Client Initiative, through which the firm invests in top clients and client leaders charting bold paths forward. She has directly led significant client relationships in industries ranging from finance, tech, health, hospitality, consumer and spent five years as global client lead for one of APCO’s largest client relationships a role in which she orchestrates teams deployed on three continents and provides perspective and approaches on issues, opportunities and emerging trends in our and our client’s business.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Starke was vice president at Robinson Lerer Montgomery (now Finsbury), where she worked with Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies on high-stakes assignments including building reputation for a major health insurer; rebuilding an airline’s reputation following bankruptcy; rebuilding trust in a financial institution following the mortgage crisis; and launching a disruptive financial services startup. Previously, she helped manage internal and external communication in the Americas for international investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Earlier in her career, she supported consumer media campaigns at Edelman Worldwide, and both brand marketing and corporate media campaigns at Burson-Marsteller.
Ms. Starke graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Tufts University, where she received cum laude honors.
