Washington (September 7, 2016) – Mitch Willey, founder of Time & Place, and noted travel and hospitality industry expert, has rejoined APCO, this time as a member of its International Advisory Council (IAC) announced Margery Kraus, founder and executive chairman of APCO Worldwide.
“Mitch is a pioneer in the short-term rental space and a true global citizen,” Kraus said. “His knowledge and experience in the travel industry reaches far beyond the United States, extending into European and global markets. Mitch helped us a great deal with our own global expansion in the past and we’re delighted to welcome Mitch back to APCO.”
In 2001, Willey combined his 20-year career in international law and his experience owning and managing multimillion dollar vacation properties to launch Time & Place, a luxury travel business that offers the amenities, convenience and security of a five-star hotel in the privacy of spectacular homes. Time & Place was one of the first companies to offer short-term luxury rental opportunities, coupled with concierge services, to travelers, making it a pioneer in a quickly growing segment of the travel industry that remains largely unregulated today.

Before launching Time & Place in 2001, Willey was a senior counselor for APCO throughout the 1990s. Prior to joining APCO, Willey was the managing partner for a large, multinational law firm located in Washington, and served as chief international counsel and director of government affairs for Europe, Canada and the Americas for a $7 billion multinational company.
Willey holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and juris doctor and master’s of business administration degrees from the University of Virginia.
