APCO Worldwide Adds Susannah Malarkey to Growing Tech Practice

Washington (April 27, 2016) — Susannah Malarkey, former executive director of the Technology Alliance and longtime technology industry thought leader, has joined APCO Worldwide as a senior advisor based in its Seattle office.

“Susannah’s insightful counsel and extraordinary expertise will give our clients the guidance they need in times of transformational change,” said APCO’s North American chairman, Nelson Fernandez. “We’re proud to have her as part of our team, and look forward to her work in a dynamic and exciting industry.”

Malarkey served as the founding executive director for the Technology Alliance, an organization founded by Bill Gates Sr. to act as a hub for advocacy work for the technology industry. While at the Technology Alliance, Malarkey helped drive efforts to grow STEM funding for K-12 education and regularly facilitated events with the technology industry’s biggest leaders.

“Susannah brings a deep understanding of the technology landscape, particularly within Puget Sound,” said Maggie Brown, managing director of APCO’s Seattle office. “Our clients will benefit from her knowledge of the key drivers of the innovation economy as they tackle from challenges ranging from employee recruitment and retention in a highly competitive environment to development of strategies to help them build brand visibility or expand their markets.”

In addition to her work with the Technology Alliance, Malarkey served as a board member with the Washington Technology Industry Association, and is a former director of public policy programs with the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce.
