APCO Announces Revamped Leadership Team in India

Washington – December 17, 2018: Today, APCO Worldwide announced a revamped leadership team in India. Rahul Sharma, a prominent media, policy, corporate communications and public affairs expert, has been appointed managing director, announced Brad Staples, CEO of APCO Worldwide. The firm also announced that senior director Yash Kansal will serve as deputy managing director, where he will support Sharma in leading the region.

Rahul’s unparalleled experience, working in a variety of sectors across India and Asia, is a valuable addition that further bolsters our expertise. We are delighted to welcome Rahul to APCO and are excited to see our on-the-ground teams continue to innovate and grow under his and Yash’s leadership.”

Prior to joining APCO Sharma held a variety of leadership roles across the communications, business and policy sectors. He most recently served as deputy secretary general of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, president of Rediffusion Communications and president of Genesis Burson-Marsteller’s public affairs practice in India and South Asia.

Earlier in his career, Sharma was a journalist for a variety of outlets, including The Economic Times, Thomson Reuters, the Hindustan Times and the Khaleej Times.

Kansal, an accomplished industry leader with 25 years of experience in public affairs, enterprise leadership, and U.S. – India commercial relations, joined APCO as a senior director in 2017. He is also currently a board member for the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to joining APCO, Kansal held senior roles at Oshkosh Corporation, the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Department of Commerce, Dalmias, Mott McDonald and Tetra Pak.

Having opened its New Delhi office in 2006, APCO Worldwide has over a decade of experience helping clients to navigate the Indian market and find solutions to their business needs with on-the-ground support in the region. The current team is comprised of over 38 consultants, who come from a range of journalistic, business, management consulting, academic and government backgrounds.
