In Memoriam: Delano Lewis

We are saddened to report that Former Ambassador, APCO colleague and International Advisory Council Member Delano Lewis passed away on August 2, 2023, at the age of 84.

Ambassador Lewis was an inspiration to so many, from his service in the Peace Corps in the 1960s to becoming President and CEO of National Public Radio to his service under President Bill Clinton as the United States ambassador to South Africa from 1999-2001. Ambassador Lewis joined the APCO’s International Advisory Council in 2011, and was a trusted colleague and cherished friend. He was a dedicated public servant and leaves a lasting legacy.
