Global Strategic Alliances Expert Joins APCO’s International Advisory Council

Washington (October 16, 2014) – Larraine Segil, partner emeritus and former owner and director of Vantage Partners, a consulting firm with expertise in conflict resolution and relationship management, joined APCO Worldwide’s International Advisory Council (IAC), founder and CEO Margery Kraus announced today.

“Larraine is a seasoned executive with a strong record of cross-cultural experience,” Kraus said. “Her expertise in global business alliances management will help our clients effectively create and manage their more complex business relationships. We are delighted to welcome her to our team.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Segil specializes in strategic cross-cultural conflict resolution and the creation, implementation and management of complex, global business alliances and outsourcing relationships in health care, technology, consumer products, manufacturing, aerospace and financial services. At Vantage Partners, she served Global 100 and Fortune 500 companies, assisting them with the creation and management of critical business relationships with suppliers, customers, alliances, joint ventures or channel partners. Some of her previous clients included Intel, Cisco, HP, IBM, McDonalds, Disney, MasterCard, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Reuters. She serves on the board of Fortune 300 Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:FTR) and is currently chair of The Committee of 200 Foundation and vice chair of the Governing Board.

Previously, Segil was CEO of an advanced materials company that provided products and services to aerospace and electronics manufacturers worldwide. She co-founded a California thrift and loan company as well as a series of free- standing ambulatory care clinics providing medical services. She also taught executive education in global alliance management at The California Institute of Technology and is currently an adjunct assistant professor of law on the same topic at Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles. She has taught senior executives about alliances throughout the Americas, Europe, China and Singapore and has lived in South Africa, Canada and the Middle East. Segil is the author of six books, including “Intelligent Business Alliances” (Random House) and “Measuring the Value of Partnering” (AMACOM 2005).
