APCO Elevates Tristan Lemonnier to Serve as Managing Director of France

March 7, 2024

Paris – 7 March 2024: Tristan Lemonnier, an expert in strategic communication and advocacy with nearly 15 years of experience in public policy, integrated campaigns and crisis management, has been appointed to serve as the managing director of APCO in France, Paolo Compostella, president of APCO’s Europe region, announced today.

“Tristan’s appointment as managing director for France marks another step in his brilliant career and lasting commitment to our company, and it is a recognition of his exemplary work so far. Tristan is one of our most valuable talents who embodies APCO’s values and focus on offering highly strategic support to our clients. I am very confident in his ability to capitalize on our Paris office’s momentum and accelerate even further our exciting trajectory in France and across the European region.”

Effective March 1, Lemonnier took over the MD role previously held by Arnaud Pochebonne, who had been recently promoted to regional chief client officer for Corporate Reputation in Europe and who will now add the role of chair of APCO in France, focusing on business development for key opportunities in the region.

“I am certain that Tristan will be successful in his new role, and I am very excited about his appointment. We have worked together closely for years and have developed together a strategic approach that has paid off, leading to consistent growth and success for APCO in France. As I move on to a broader role in the firm, I will remain based in France and I am delighted to have the chance to keep partnering with Tristan, certain that our team in Paris could not have a better leader than him.”

Since 2021, Lemonnier has supported Pochebonne as the deputy managing director of APCO in France. In this role, Lemonnier helped to secure fast and steady growth for the firm and as the new MD, he will continue to strengthen APCO’s premium advisory capabilities in France and in the region. Prior to joining APCO, Lemonnier served as the director of development and operations for a start-up company specializing in artificial intelligence for the agro-ecological transition. He also previously served as the chief of staff to the deputy CEO of a leading digital transformation company in Europe. A legal expert, Lemonnier has supported several entities in proceedings before the French and European courts.

His expertise is particularly recognized when it comes to complex crises and litigation proceedings, advising clients facing challenging policy and regulatory environments, and leading international advocacy campaigns, which he currently does for some of APCO’s most strategic clients.

“I am honored to be appointed managing director of APCO in France and I am grateful to Paolo and Arnaud for their trust. Arnaud’s exceptional leadership over the past five years has put APCO in a very strong position in the market. My focus will be on consolidating that position while generating further exciting opportunities for the firm. APCO offers a unique combination of premium advisory services, operational excellence, and a demonstrated capacity to support clients navigate a complex and constantly evolving environment. We have an exceptionally talented team and we are eager to write together the next page of APCO’s journey in France.”

Lemonnier takes on his new role during a milestone year for APCO. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its founding, APCO recently launched a new brand identity, looking to the future built on its continued effort to provide advisory and advocacy services that help clients navigate global complexities by building un/common ground℠ to achieve progress.

APCO began as a single-person operation with the idea that clients need to have the freedom to look across the spectrum and not have the solution be defined by the kind of firm they approached. Now, as APCO celebrates its 40th anniversary with more than 1,200 employees in 33 offices worldwide, APCO’s global team works together across borders and functions to help clients face the unknown and bring about meaningful change and impact for their stakeholders and society. When divisions and contradictions present barriers to progress, APCO’s strategic advisors uncover insights, build coalitions, and make vital connections that continue to unlock solutions and create opportunities.
