Before joining APCO, Thomas dedicated over a decade to the roles of chief of staff and senior policy advisor for several Austrian members of the European Parliament within the EPP Group. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance on legislative matters across several parliamentary committees. His earlier career included a position as attaché at the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations and completing his legal clerkship in various courts and a law firm in Vienna. During his academic pursuits, Thomas was actively involved in student representation at the faculty, university, national level and EU level, serving as the international secretary of his student organisation and as vice president of the European Democrat Students, the student wing of the EPP party.
As a recognised commentator and thought leader in EU affairs, Thomas frequently contributes articles and insights on the political dynamics within the EU institutions and at member state level. An Austrian national, Thomas holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Innsbruck and in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
