Stephanie Waties is a director in APCO Worldwide’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, working with Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and coalitions to address issues at the intersection of corporate reputation and public affairs. In this role, she manages large, cross-functional project teams responsible for developing strategies that support clients’ business objectives and executing integrated communications programs grounded in research. Ms. Waties counsels key APCO clients across numerous high-stakes industries, including transportation, travel and technology. In 2020, she was recognized by Business Insider as a rising star in public relations.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Waties spent three years at Widmeyer Communications, where she worked with nonprofits, associations and government clients to raise awareness of key education issues including bullying prevention, college readiness and early learning policy. In 2015, her work was recognized with a Silver Anvil Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America.
A New Jersey native, Ms. Waties holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in Political Communication from American University.
