Sofia Scarpellini is an associate consultant with expertise in EU sustainability policy. With a strong analytical mindset and deep attention to detail, she is committed to delivering impactful results and driving meaningful change for both team and client projects. As a member of the Sustainability Practice team in APCO’s Brussels office, Sofia brings a combination of policy awareness in sustainability with interdisciplinary expertise and a natural curiosity to explore diverse policy areas, including digital, health care and circular economy.

Before joining APCO, Sofia worked as a trainee at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in Brussels, and in an EU public affairs consultancy. During this time, Sofia collaborated with various trade associations and NGOs, focusing on healthcare, gender equality, digital policies, sustainability and circular economy. Her previous experiences enabled her to develop a solid understanding of EU policy dynamics, strong client and coalition-building skills, as well as expertise in association management.

Sofia holds a Master’s Degree in Law with a specialisation in European, International and Comparative Law from the University of Trento in Italy, with semesters abroad in Israel and the UK. In addition to Italian, Sofia is fluent in English and speaks a little bit of French and Spanish.
