Prior to APCO, Seleana served as Senior Vice President at Hill+Knowlton (Burson), where she led the Better Impact and Inclusion practice, developing integrated corporate affairs and reputation initiatives for multinational clients including Procter & Gamble, Campari, Ford, Corning, and Adidas. Her expertise in aligning communications with stakeholder expectations and social benchmarks positioned clients to lead authentically across complex industry landscapes. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at Ogilvy Public Relations, where she directed national outreach strategy for FEMA under a multi-million dollar portfolio, building partnerships across 150+ organizations and operationalizing strategy across all 10 FEMA regions. At Ogilvy, her campaigns won multiple PRSA Silver Anvil Awards, PRSA Thoth Awards, and PR Week Awards for excellence in integrated communications.
Seleana holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Public Relations from the University of Florida School of Journalism. Seleana is an active member of Washington Women in PR, The Conference Board’s Corporate Communication Strategy Council, The House at 1229 and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. She is a recognized industry speaker, having presented on topics including “The Evolution of Engagement: Corporate Communications Strategies for a Transforming World” at Ragan’s Communication Leadership Summit and “The Political Backlash on Taking a Stand in a Polarized Environment” at the Page Society. Her technical expertise includes integrated communications strategy, issues management, executive positioning, and leveraging advanced analytics and AI tools for strategic insight and foresight in reputation management.
