
With over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Sarah Raafat has delivered impactful strategies across diverse sectors—including technology, sustainability, education and healthcare—in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt for both public and private organizations. Sarah leads strategic communications for the MENA technology sector and contributes to APCO’s climate change and sustainability practice as a Senior Account Director in Abu Dhabi.
Before joining APCO, Sarah was a senior communications consultant at Hill and Knowlton Strategies, leading the government and public affairs practice in KSA and supporting both energy & industrials and health & wellness practices in the UAE. She also held senior marketing communications consultant role at RTI International, collaborating with key organizations such as Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Regulatory & Supervision Bureau, Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, advising the client on the need to raise awareness on the importance of demand side management and launched Abu Dhabi’s conservation platform “Tarsheed”.
Sarah’s career includes international marketing management at Emaar Properties, marketing communications manager at Empower Energy Solutions, and communications expert at the Danish International Development Assistance.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from The American University in Cairo, with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communications. Additionally, Sarah has earned certificates in public policy analysis from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as in Design Thinking and Innovation from Harvard Business School Online.
