Mackenzie Allen assists clients in building and executing integrated communications plans and campaigns to engage audiences and meet their organizational goals in today’s complex media and business environment. Throughout her career, Mackenzie has extensive experience working within health care, food and nutrition and association management. She currently serves as a senior associate director based in APCO’s Chicago office.

Prior to joining APCO, Mackenzie was director of strategic communications at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics with responsibility for the development and implementation of the Academy’s communication strategy including overseeing media and public relations, and the national spokesperson program. Previously, she managed the editorial content for the Academy’s consumer and professional websites.
An editor by trade, Mackenzie started her career working for trade publications and continued with positions in corporate internal communications. She embraced her entrepreneurial spirit while consulting for media and event organizations and businesses supporting the manufacturing and aerospace sector. Mackenzie continues to stay connected to the startup and hard tech and manufacturing community in the Midwest.
Mackenzie has a master’s degree in English with a concentration in American literature, a master’s degree in education and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
