Johannes Sibbor is a seasoned leader in government relations, public affairs and crisis communications. He currently serves as Deputy MD, Germany at APCO in APCO’s Berlin office. His work primarily focuses on advising international clients on political engagement with the German federal government. This includes shaping legislative processes and influencing regulatory decisions made by ministries and supervisory authorities. Another key area of his expertise is advising clients on shaping Germany’s position, as the largest EU member state, on decision-making processes in Brussels and other international arenas.
Together with his project teams, Johannes develops tailored communication strategies based on the specific situation and client needs. These strategies range from targeted lobbying and political agenda-setting to comprehensive policy communications approaches.
Johannes specializes in the health, transport and energy sectors. Prior to joining APCO, he was business director and senior advisor at the Berlin-based public affairs consultancy Johannsen + Kretschmer. He also gained experience at Weber Shandwick, another leading communications firm in Berlin.
He holds a master’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Leipzig University and earned the Bohemicum Certificate in cooperation with Charles University in Prague
