Gavin McGovern is a consultant at APCO and is based in Washington, D.C., where he is a member of the firm’s Advisory practice.

Prior to joining APCO, Mr. McGovern worked in government relations and business advisory consulting with Albright Stonebridge Group’s East Asia & Pacific team. He has advised trade organizations and companies in a variety of sectors including cosmetics, nonprofit, pharmaceuticals and tech. In his role with Albright Stonebridge Group, he engaged public and private sector representatives on market entry and project implementation, taking into account varied political and regulatory landscapes across the Asia-Pacific.

Mr. McGovern served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Indonesia from 2017 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Washington, D.C. office of a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mr. McGovern holds a master of arts degree from John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he was a Freeport Fellow in Southeast Asia studies. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bucknell University. Mr. McGovern is proficient in Bahasa Indonesia.
