Emily Coghlan, director in APCO Worldwide’s Chicago office, provides corporate positioning services, media relations and strategic communication counsel for clients across a variety of industries including higher education, nonprofit, health care, chemical, transportation, food and beverage, the performing arts and legal.
She currently manages APCO’s work for one of the nation’s most prestigious business schools, providing communications support related to thought leadership for the dean and other senior leaders as well as strategic counsel, internal communications, media relations, influencer identification and research.
Ms. Coghlan has also worked with a number of nonprofit organizations including The Clinton Global Initiative, CECP, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Ford’s Theatre Society. She has planned numerous media outreach campaigns and press events, developed marketing communication strategies, managed executive positioning programs and provided capital campaign support.
Before she joined APCO, Ms. Coghlan was a senior publicist with Planned Television Arts (PTA), a division of Ruder Finn, where she coordinated national media campaigns for spokespersons, celebrities, politicians, authors, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Coghlan received her Bachelor of Arts in English from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she graduated magna cum laude. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
