Caroline Gibin Ribeiro is a public affairs and strategic communications advisor with deep expertise in Latin American markets and global stakeholder engagement. As a Sr. Associate Director at APCO, Caroline leads high-impact initiatives for clients across sectors, advising on geopolitical and corporate affairs to enhance reputations, shape narratives, and build strategic partnerships. Based in APCO’s Washington office, she also supports executive positioning and visibility at global platforms such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the United Nations General Assembly. Caroline is known for her ability to distill complex issues into compelling messages tailored to multicultural audiences and for her leadership in managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. Most recently, Caroline led one of APCO’s most innovative projects: the deployment of Margy, APCO’s proprietary adaptive intelligence platform, for a major multinational food company’s public affairs and government relations team. She played a central role in training the system and ensuring its successful implementation across 12 countries and more than 20 complex issues. Her leadership on this global initiative helped position the client at the forefront of AI-driven public affairs strategy.
Prior to joining APCO, Caroline served as Assistant Manager for Global Government Affairs at Mitsubishi Corporation, where she oversaw the Latin America portfolio, monitored geopolitical developments, and built relationships across sectors including critical minerals, telecom, and agriculture. She also played a key role in advancing diversity and inclusion within the company, founding and chairing its first Employee Resource Group focused on women. Earlier in her career, Caroline was a Senior Associate at McLarty Associates, where she supported Fortune 50 multinationals in navigating public policy and advocacy efforts in Brazil and the Southern Cone. Her work included strategic communications, executive briefings, and stakeholder engagement across Washington, D.C. and South America.
Caroline began her career in Brazil, where she held roles at Amcham-Brasil and GE, supporting U.S.-Brazil bilateral relations and government affairs initiatives. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Strategic Communication and Public Relations from the University of Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Fundação Santo André. Caroline speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Her core strengths include project management, strategic engagements, and public affairs advising. Born and raised in Brazil, Caroline has called Washington, D.C. home for nearly a decade, bringing a truly global perspective to her work.
