Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.
Prior to joining APCO, Alex was the director of communications at SAFE, a nonpartisan nonprofit that advocates for robust electric vehicle and technology supply chains, from minerals to markets, as an energy and national security priority. At SAFE, he was responsible for the entire communications portfolio, from media relations to report and grant writing. This included writing flagship reports on autonomous vehicles, issue briefs on mineral supply chains and op-eds for retired four-star admirals, generals and Fortune 500 CEOs. Alex was also previously a communications specialist at American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), a trade association that represents virtually the entire oil refining capacity of the United States. At AFPM, he developed and edited the association’s blog as well as its digital properties, including social media and starting a podcast.
Prior to AFPM, Alex worked as a newsdesk analyst for Exovera, writing media reports for NATO and the U.S. Department of State personnel in Baghdad and Kabul. Before moving to the United States, he was the business editor of a daily newspaper in Oman, and previously covered criminal trials at London’s Central Criminal Court. Alex holds a master’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s in English literature from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
