APCO Worldwide Announces Changes in European Leadership

January 8, 2019

Washington, DC (January 9, 2017) — Claire Boussagol, managing director of APCO Worldwide’s office in Brussels, was appointed chairman for the European region, in addition to her current role; and Nicolas Castex joins APCO as managing director of the firm’s offices in France, CEO Brad Staples announced today.

Boussagol will be responsible for driving collaboration and business development between APCO’s offices across the region. Castex, who joins from Citigate Dewe Rogerson in Paris, will lead APCO’s thriving Paris and Lyon offices.

“Claire’s determined and focused leadership of APCO’s Brussels operations over the past three and a half years has seen our business grow significantly in that market,” said Staples. “This builds on the great success she accomplished earlier in her career as our managing director in Paris.  Claire’s record for nurturing enduring pan-European and global client relationships throughout her 21 year career with APCO provides a strong foundation for future success in this new role.”

“I look forward to this new challenge and to taking our integrated offer to the next level in Europe,” said Boussagol. “I am also delighted to welcome Nicolas Castex to lead our operations in France.  He brings outstanding experience of advising international brands in the French market and he will also strengthen our growing financial communication practice in Europe.”

“I’m excited to be joining APCO,” said Castex. “I have always admired the firm’s strong reputation for providing strategic counsel, particularly at critical junctures and during significant periods of change. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to lead a number of multinational client accounts in France, across diverse sectors, and I look forward to working with APCO’s talented team to continue to deliver outstanding results for their impressive roster of clients.”

Boussagol has more than 26 years of consulting experience in public affairs and strategic communication. She has been managing director of APCO’s Brussels office since 2013 and, prior to that, she served as executive director of the EMEA region and managing director of APCO’s Paris office. Boussagol provides strategic counsel to multinational clients across a broad range of sectors and has led complex global, EU and French public affairs and corporate communication campaigns. Boussagol originally trained as a lawyer and, earlier in her career, taught for four years at Sciences Po in Paris.

Castex founded Citigate Dewe Rogerson’s Paris office in 2004 and has served as managing director ever since. He has provided financial communication, public affairs and corporate communication advice to multinational clients across a range of sectors, with a particular specialty in the financial, real estate, technology and healthcare spheres.  He is one of France’s leading experts in transaction communication, investor relations and financial public relations. Castex joined Citigate Dewe Rogerson from Publicis Consultants in Paris. He studied at the University of Strasbourg’s Institute of Political Studies.
