Senior Director

Yadan Ouyang advises leading global businesses on public affairs and corporate reputation strategies during moments of scrutiny and change. A core member of APCO’s Global China team, she draws on more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of geopolitics, public affairs and communications to help C-suite clients manage risks and build stakeholder trust.

Having lived and worked in both China and the United States, Yadan brings a distinctive cross-border perspective, helping business leaders bridge differences in stakeholder expectations and navigate complex dynamics between China and the rest of the world.

Before joining APCO, Yadan worked at a global advisory firm in Washington, D.C. and Beijing, leading cross-border mandates spanning crisis and litigation communications, government investigations, change management and executive positioning for clients across the technology, consumer, financial services and nonprofit sectors. Earlier, she led public affairs and communications at the Australian Embassy in Beijing.

Yadan began her career as a journalist, reporting on China-related affairs for The Economist in China for seven years. She was part of a New York Times team awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2013 for a series examining supply chain challenges posed by an increasingly globalized technology industry.
