Tommaso Astazi is a senior consultant at APCO and is based in Brussels. He specializes in digital, environmental and blockchain-related policies and is a member of the firm’s Technology, Sustainability and Financial Services teams. On the digital side of his work, he is responsible for closely following legislative developments on Artificial Intelligence, platform workers, telecom networks, and data privacy. His involvement in sustainability revolves around the climate ambitions of the European Union, the push for sustainable finance and the debates around sustainable production and packaging. He then joined the Financial Services team to work on the most recent developments in the blockchain sector and directly engage with policymakers around the ongoing legislative discussions.
Being in a unique position to combine the expertise and networks of the three APCO practices he works with, Mr. Astazi specializes in how digital technologies can be used to address sustainability and environmental policy issues, as well as the environmental concerns related to the energy consumption of data centers and decentralized networks.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Astazi completed his graduate studies in European studies at Maastricht University while working as a social media manager for a local business. He is an Italian national, speaks fluent Spanish and has a basic knowledge of French, Dutch and German.
