Senior Associate Director

Taniya Thomas is a senior associate director at APCO and is based in New York.  She has over 10 years of experience across energy, climate and sustainability within the public and private sectors. At APCO, she works across clients advising them on their climate and sustainability initiatives as well as developing corporate climate strategies.

Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Thomas worked for the City of New York’s Division of Energy Management (DEM) as a deputy director within their operations unit. In this role, she led a team focused on supporting city agencies with their climate strategy and long-term planning in support of the City’s pathway toward decarbonization and served as a technical lead for the City’s progressive Local Law 97 Implementation Action Plan (LL97 IAP). Previously, Ms. Thomas also worked as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, supporting both the federal and commercial practice around energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy resiliency, and cybersecurity initiatives. She has also held positions as an energy analyst supporting the built environment.

Ms. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from SUNY Binghamton and a Master of Engineering, Chemical with a focus on engineer engineering and economics from Cornell University.
