Robert Peters is a senior associate director at APCO and is based in Washington, D.C., where he specializes in government relations. Mr. Peters brings a deep understanding of the legislative process and successful record in policy development, passage of legislation and political strategy on a range of legislative and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Peters served as a senior advisor to Rep. John Ratcliffe where he advised the congressman on cybersecurity, technology, telecommunications, appropriations, homeland security, transportation, space, commerce, health care, natural resources and the budget among other key issues. During his time on Capitol Hill Mr. Peters was responsible for leading efforts on homeland security such as improving critical infrastructure security, managing cybersecurity policy initiatives, advancing federal network security, supporting collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors on technological innovation, helping stakeholders navigate regulatory frameworks, and accomplishing legislative priorities through the annual appropriations and NDAA processes.
Mr. Peters holds a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin.
