Renee Johnston specializes in issues management, stakeholder engagement and reputation building. She is often engaged in complex global energy issues, with a particular focus on nuclear energy. As a Director in APCO’s Raleigh office, Renee is also an experienced project manager and a member of the Business Financial Management team.
Prior to joining APCO, Renee was an associate in the Europe & Eurasia practice at McLarty Associates, an international business strategic advisory firm located in Washington D.C. While there, she advised both foreign and domestic clients on global issues such as U.S. sanctions, transnational climate regulations and international energy politics.
Renee earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, Russian and journalism from Wake Forest University as well as her master’s degree in Eurasian, Russian and Eastern European studies from Georgetown University. She has her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
