Rasheed Abu Bakar is a director based in APCO Worldwide’s Singapore. He has over a decade of experience developing and managing results-driven communications programs for clients across the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Abu Bakar spent eight years at a multinational agency spearheading its footprint in Asia, specifically in Singapore and Indonesia, helping major multinational companies navigate the intricate and highly nuanced region and providing high-value strategic communication, public relations and crisis communication counsel.
In the course of his 11-year career in the industry, Mr. Abu Bakar has also worked with various companies on restructuring and rebranding projects, government relations and stakeholder communications and outreach.
Before joining the communications industry, Mr. Abu Bakar was a junior reporter at Penrith Star, a community newspaper in Sydney. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication, majoring in Journalism, from the Western Sydney University, Australia.
