Prashanth Rajan is a director in APCO’s Washington-based public affairs practice. He is a former management consultant and diplomat who specializes in public affairs, global relations and policy advocacy.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Rajan worked as a management consultant for KPMG, specializing in corporate strategy and strategic communications on behalf of a variety of clients, spanning the technology, financial services, industrial manufacturing, aerospace and defense and government sectors.
Before joining the private sector, Mr. Rajan’s experience included serving as a U.S. diplomat for the Department of State. During his tenure, Mr. Rajan served overseas in Islamabad, Pakistan and Mumbai, India. Mr. Rajan also staffed Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and John Kerry in the crisis and communications center, which tracked and provided analytical products on breaking news events across the globe. He was instrumental to the Department of State’s successful initiative to expand the visa program for short-term travel for Chinese tourists and business travelers.
Mr. Rajan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Politics from New York University and an MBA from George Washington University.
