Why LGBTQIA History Month Matters
Mina Rodriguez is a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) associate consultant at APCO and is based in Washington, D.C. They use their passion for advocacy and equity to lead their work in DEI-related projects to create a culture of belonging. At APCO, Mx. Rodriguez works closely with the DEI council and Accelerate What’s Right to uphold and push forth APCO’s values of boldness, inclusivity, curiosity, and empathy. They assist with developing key DEI metrics for APCO, supporting the development and programming of ERGs, and serving as a liaison between HR and DEI efforts including recruitment and trainings.
Prior to joining APCO, Mx. Rodriguez gained DEI experience as the Advocacy Director for CASCADE—the first LGBTQIA+ organization on an HBCU campus—and as a free-lance DEI consultant for Independent schools in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
Mx. Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic, legal and management communication and a minor in sociology with a concentration in race, class, and gender from Howard University.
