Former Global Chief Marketing, Communication and Brand Officer for Westinghouse Electric Company

Considered one of the foremost communications thought leaders in corporate America today, Marta Newhart is recognized for creating impact-driven communication strategies that transform brands while increasing investment and driving revenue, and industry influence. A journey that has taken her around the world, including assignments in Beijing, China, and Buenos Aires, Argentina and B2B manufacturing in Mexico.  

She has delivered bottom-line results in highly complex and regulated industries. She has been directly involved in the strategy, execution, and integration of seven acquisitions in eighteen months at Westinghouse, the acquisition of Tyco at Johnson Controls ($11B) and McDonnell Douglas at Boeing ($13B). 

A global chief marketing, communication, and brand officer, most recently for Westinghouse, she was an integral part of an executive team that spearheaded the clean energy transformation. In this position, she defined and substantially increased the equity of the company’s brand in the changing sector.  

Before joining Westinghouse, she held CCO and executive positions with some of the world’s most admired Global Fortune 100, technology and manufacturing companies including The Boeing Company, Johnson Controls, and Covidien, which became Medtronic.  

Responsible for CSR and a strong advocate for DEI, and as the highest-ranking Latino executive at one Dow Component and three Nasdaq companies, she has a connection for creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive business environment that will benefit companies and consumers for generations to come. That commitment garnered her the coveted Inclusive Leader Award for Corporate America.  

Ms. Newhart She is also the President and Founder of Mejor Compra a Latina operated commercial real estate investment company.  

Marta has a bachelor’s degree in international business and international communications from the University of Washington in Seattle and an MBA in business management and marketing from Pepperdine University in Malibu.
