Mark Benson is a research and strategy consultant with experience in 48 countries and 38 US states. Mr. Benson and his associates have provided survey research, message development and strategic communications counsel for global corporations, governments, and public policy campaigns throughout the world.
Mr. Benson is the founder and former Chairman of APCO Insight, the global research consultancy of APCO, a strategic communications firm based in Washington, D.C., with offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Mr. Benson served as Chairman of the global research organization and as strategic counsel to APCO for over 20 years.
APCO Insight has extensive experience in the natural resource sector, including mining, oil & gas, community siting and infrastructure development. Clients have included some of the largest companies in this sector and included work in the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Germany, United Kingdom, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
At APCO Insight, Mr. Benson was a member of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, and ESOMAR, the European research standards organization. He was also a founding board member of the Healthstore Foundation, an organization that originated micro-franchising to establish networks of sustainable health clinics in several African countries.
