Senior Associate Director

Mackenzie Mittleman specializes in patient advocacy, public health and coalition building, representing diverse healthcare clients including pharmaceuticals, health associations, and patient advocacy organizations. She also has experience in integrated campaigns focused on prevention, screening and treatment adherence for health issues. Mackenzie currently serves as a senior associate director based in APCO’s Washington, D.C.,office.

Prior to joining APCO, Mackenzie was an account supervisor at JPA Health in Washington, D.C., where she managed patient ambassador programs and advocacy relations for a variety of pharmaceutical and nonprofit health organizations. She conducted a range of communications efforts, including media relations, digital strategy, public affairs work and message development.

Mackenzie also worked at Spectrum Science Communications where she gained experience supporting a diverse range of biotechnology clients. While there, she focused on disease state awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement initiatives, coalition building, drug approval and product launch communications.

Mackenzie holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health, where she focused her studies on health promotion, health disparities and disease prevention. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with a minor in Communication from the University of California, Davis.
