Zakedis

Associate Consultant

Luke Zakedis is an associate consultant at APCO and is based in Washington, D.C. He has a background in U.S. congressional communications and policymaking as well as in U.S. foreign policy. Luke is a member of the firm’s Geo-Commerce team, which advises clients who face challenges at the intersection of international business, government, and public opinion.

Before joining APCO, Luke was the digital manager for U.S. Congressman David Cicilline, chair of the House Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counter-Terrorism Subcommittee, the House Antitrust Subcommittee, and the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus. In this role, Mr. Zakedis led digital communications on the Justice for Victims of War Crimes Act, the December 2022 hearing on the Yemen Civil War, the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, and the Equality Act. Prior to working for Representative Cicilline, Mr. Zakedis was a fellow on Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s team, working on caucus-wide communications for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, COVID-19 PSAs, and debt ceiling messaging.

Mr. Zakedis graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a bachelor’s in political science after leading multiple international research teams at the UCLA Foreign Policy Journal. While in undergrad, Mr. Zakedis interned for the United Nations, Governor Newsom’s office, Congressman Swalwell’s office, Congressman Cisneros’ campaign office, and a human trafficking research team at the Bangladeshi NGO BRAC.
