Katherine F. Mackinnon
Director
Katherine Mackinnon, director, is a strategic communications and advocacy expert in APCO Worldwide’s Seattle office. She is also cofounder and current co-chair of APCO’s Women’s Leadership Group ERG. She is a prominent strategic communications and advocacy expert with more than a decade of local government and public affairs experience.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Mackinnon served as an account supervisor and director for Nyhus Communications, where she specialized in reputation management, advocacy, strategic communications and public affairs for a wide range of clients across the technology and real estate sectors.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Mackinnon served as a policy and advocacy specialist for the Downtown Seattle Association, where she built coalitions and led campaigns focused on improving public safety and enhancing infrastructure investments in the city. She also worked for two Seattle city council members on issues related to transportation, land use and budget policy.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McGill University.
