Deputy Managing Director, Washington DC

Joanna London provides strategic counsel to help clients shape their brand and reputation in the market. She has been with APCO for nearly 15 years, spanning a diverse set of roles including running key corporate accounts, building the video production offering, leading the creative practice, serving as chief-of-staff for the Washington office and launching and now leading the DC office corporate communications practice.​ Joanna currently serves as deputy managing director and is based in APCO’s Washington office.

Joanna has produced campaigns for clients across a range of sectors including health care, energy, education, technology and automotive. Her responsibilities include all aspects of campaign development from shaping quantitative and qualitative research to defining key audiences, turning insights into informed and effective strategies and developing the expression of the brand in the market through integrated campaigns across paid, earned, owned and shared media. Her recent work for state-wide education client led to the adoption of a new platform aimed at students, policy makers and influential thought leaders and the successful launch of a fully integrated, multi-channel advertising campaign.​

Prior to joining APCO, Joanna worked for the Natural Resources Defense Council, building coalitions in support of the organization’s legislative objectives. She managed public education campaigns, supported legislative initiatives and helped build state-wide coalitions.​

Joanna has a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington.
