Jen Kelley Young, senior director and Washington, D.C. health practice lead for APCO Worldwide, is a communications, marketing and public affairs executive with more than 20 years of experience directing integrated campaigns, programs and operations for health and non-health related corporations, government agencies, trade associations and advocacy organizations.
Ms. Young is a dynamic and collaborative leader with demonstrated success in facilitating communications within complex organizations and the consistent delivery of impactful results. Ms. Young currently oversees Washington’s health practice and in addition to managing strategic client relationships, she supports clients’ efforts to help generate awareness, build and manage reputation, and advance key policy priorities and regulatory issues on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Young spent over a decade in Edelman’s Washington, D.C. office and most recently served as executive vice president, director of operations. While at Edelman, she worked with clients and colleagues to develop, implement, and manage best in class communications strategies.
A healthcare communications veteran, Ms. Young also worked for FleishmanHillard and Hill+Knowlton. Earlier in her career, she served in policy and state government affairs roles at PhRMA, the biopharmaceutical trade association, and as a research associate for the Advisory Board Company, a health care think tank.
Ms. Young currently serves as Membership Co-Chair for the Women’s Committee of the Washington Ballet, is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Washington and is involved with Charter Board Partners, an organization committed to building strong boards for DC’s public charter schools.
