István Kornis is a seasoned public affairs and government relations professional with over a decade of experience advising multinational companies on how to navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes. As a Director at APCO in Berlin, he develops tailored advocacy strategies, stakeholder engagement plans and political risk assessments to support clients in highly regulated industries.
István began his career at the German Bundestag, where he gained first-hand insight into the legislative process. He then spent several years at EUTOP, a leading German government affairs consultancy, advising corporate clients in Berlin and Brussels on political positioning and regulatory strategy. Most recently, he was head of Public Affairs at Forvis Mazars, where he developed and led the firm’s political engagement strategy in Germany and Europe.
With experience in both public institutions and corporate consulting, István takes a pragmatic, results-oriented approach to public affairs. He has worked closely with senior executives, political stakeholders and industry associations, leveraging his in-depth knowledge of policy-making, regulatory frameworks and political communications. He is fluent in German, English and Hungarian, enabling him to work effectively in diverse international environments.
