Project Assistant

Helena Deman is an associate consultant at APCO and is based in New York where she is a member of the Global Multiplier Partnerships team. In this role, she supports strategic initiatives around global platform events and organizations such as the UN General Assembly, the World Economic Forum, and others.

Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Deman completed a traineeship with the Belgian Mission to the United Nations, where she contributed to the country’s representation in legal-related and budgetary matters. She also assisted in coverage for specific committees such as the Commission on the Status of Women and Children and Armed Conflict.

​Ms. Deman graduated with great academic distinction from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland with a Master of Arts in History. During her time at university, she held several leadership roles which enhanced her passion for international affairs and cooperation. As co-director of the Africa Summit and President of the St. Andrews Law Society, Ms. Deman worked on expanding both organizations. 

Ms. Deman has moved several times between the United States and Europe. She is fluent in Dutch and English and proficient in French.
