Areas of Expertise:

Georgios Papatzikas is an Associate Consultant in APCO’s Brussels office, where he is part of the Financial Services and Technology practices. In this role, he contributes to a variety of projects, supporting clients on issues related to capital and financial markets infrastructure, crypto-asset regulations, data and privacy and global trade policy developments. He is also actively involved in new business development, contributing to proposals and strategic outreach.

He began his professional journey in Brussels as an intern in the External Relations and Enlargement Unit of the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU, where he worked on trade-related issues. After completing his studies and fulfilling his military service in Greece, he joined the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade as a trainee, focusing on public procurement and technical barriers to trade (TBT).

He transitioned to the private sector and consulting joining Burson as an intern in the Technology and Digital Economy practice. There, he supported clients with digital policy portfolios, concentrating on digital and data policies, cybersecurity, semiconductors, AI and competition matters.

Georgios holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Master’s degree in International Relations and International Security from the University of Groningen. He approaches his work with a collaborative and constructive mindset and is keen to further develop his skills and broaden his expertise across policy and regulatory domains.
