Gareth Tan is an associate director at APCO’s Singapore office where he leads its Technology practice and works in a coordinating role on several regional technology accounts. Mr. Tan’s experience with issues such as intermediary liability, data governance, and emergent technology allows him to provide clients with clear insights on the resonance of technology policy across various domains and advise on strategic directions and narrative development.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Tan was a manager at Access Partnership, a consultancy focused on ICT policy, where he advised clients in multilateral corporations, regional organizations and governments on policy formation and regulatory issues. He has also been an analyst on the international relations of Myanmar and Thailand at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, and a researcher on international economic competitiveness at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy before that.
Mr. Tan has contributed to commentary sections in Singaporean and regional news outlets such as TODAY Online, The Straits Times and Channel NewsAsia.
