Gabriele Cirieco is one of the deans of Institutional Relations in Italy. Gabriele is an Executive Director, Business Development Strategist, with national and international responsibilities. He has navigated Italian politics for seven legislatures’ terms for a total of 15 different governments, offering support and ‘vision’ constructing awareness campaigns and providing advice on relations with the institutions, successfully implementing several political and legislative campaigns, and strategic communication. His work has spanned a vast number of sectors: from metallurgy to transports, and energy (both electricity and gas), environment, and recycling, finance, manufacturing industries in its various sectoral verticals, ICT and digital. Gabriele also has deep experience in crisis management and corporate restructuring, as well as managing the phases following M&A cases. In this field he has worked for AkzoNobel, Alcoa, Philips, Vesuvius, Honeywell, Beko Europe and many others.
Pro veritate adversa diligere
Gabriele began his career in the Italian subsidiary of GPC (Government Policy Consultant) 26 years ago and then spent six years in APCO as an associate director. He subsequently founded and led for 17 years Strategic Advice, an Italian boutique specialized in public affairs, and then returned to APCO, offering his expertise to domestics and international clients.
Gabriele earned a master’s degree at the University of Pisa in Political Science with a focus on International Relations, a specialization course on ‘EU External Relations’ (Free University of Brussels, ULB), and a specialization course for Legislative Assembly advisors (University of Rome, La Sapienza). He has been awarded by the President of the Republic, upon the proposal of the Council of Ministers, the rank of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic; the most prestigious order in Italy. He also serves as a mentor at the University of Pisa, one of the oldest universities in Europe.
